A Rope of Grace

By Marilyn MacArthur – Concord, New Hampshire, USA - 19 February 2012

Tepid Reason, with lukewarm,
apathetic mediocrity, swam in a
sea of dulled melancholy.

The sea was bloated by tired tedium
until it swelled with the grey
corrosive acid of weary normalcy.

But You walked on the water,
turbulent despair beneath Your feet,
throwing a rope of grace to the drowning.
