Crucifixion

By Douglas W. Price - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - 12 April 2014

Groan

lifted up, and kneeling

below helpless, unhealing,

love shorn

and numb-stormed

without, within,

the beloved shrink as the arid winds

mock Him alone.

     How can this lead out,

bleed out,

bring about

a good, a Godly,

a glow-ring

around hearts heading

home

hoping

for meaning?

It can.

Blood on sand,

tears and dust-stained

faces, feelings,

hands,

yet

kept

after all sense is wept

comes the hallowing,

fearsome love-letting

accompanying

     home.
